Henry arrested on drug charges
Former Denver Broncos RB Travis Henry has been arrested following an alleged cocaine deal, the Drug Enforcement Administration said Wednesday.
Buffalo Bills.Mack and Henry were in federal custody on suspicion of knowingly and intentionally conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine. They were advised of charges yesterday, and a preliminary hearing and detention hearing were scheduled for Monday.
CB Terrence McGee, who wore a brace on his left knee and walked with a limp, was one of three defensive starters to miss practice as the team prepared to play at the Arizona Cardinals this weekend.
Cincinnati Bengals
QB Carson Palmer handed off during practice but didn’t participate in plays that called for a pass, part of the plan to help his sore elbow heal.
Palmer sat out a 20-12 loss to Cleveland on Sunday with a sore elbow, hurt a week earlier in a loss to the Giants. Coach Marvin Lewis plans to wait until late in the week to decide whether Palmer will play Sunday in Dallas.
• WR Chris Henry rejoined the team in practice, his first workout since he served a four-game suspension for misconduct.
Green Bay Packers
QB Aaron Rodgers is nursing a sprained right shoulder and performed only a few handoffs before leaving practice.
Rookie backups Matt Flynn and Brian Brohm got most of the work; Rodgers took several snaps early on.
• The team placed DE Cullen Jenkins on injured reserve because of a chest injury, ending his season.
Jenkins was hurt in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game at Tampa Bay while attempting to sack the Buccaneers’ Brian Griese. The club signed DE Kenny Pettway, a 6-3, 248-pound third-year player who spent the past two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
New Orleans Saints
The team brought back QB Joey Harrington as their third option.
Harrington, a former third overall draft choice by Detroit in 2002, first joined New Orleans on Sept. 19, but was released last week when injuries left the Saints short at other positions.
