Does Kimbo deserve some credit?
So anyone out there that may have thought Kimbo Slice would be the number one ranked heavyweight in the world someday was really only kidding themselves. The problem with that all comes down to the way EliteXC has marketed him. Kevin Fergusen just wanted to fight, which is obvious because he made a name for himself fighting on the internet against bums in back yards and parking lots. When he decided to make the move into the MMA universe people cringed, but Kimbo knew what he was doing. If anything, hate EliteXC, hate Jared Shaw. They are the ones that set this all up. Last night when Kimbo Slice lay sprawled out on the floor, Jared Shaw can be seen in the background screaming at the referee about a shot to the back of the head. When questioned about it later he stated that it was because he wanted the best safety for the fighters.

Not too surprised Belema! I didn’t think he would get knocked out in 14 seconds though! I knew it was going to happen down the road, Petruzelli had fought in the UFC before so I take it he knows a bit about MMA. I am glad this happened, it is time someone squashed the hype.

KIMBO SLICE is EliteXC’s cash cow - all hype, no skill. He was beaten by a UFC drop-out. Any of the top 20 from middle to heavyweight in the UFC would annihilate him. I almost puked at the broadcasters as they were making it sound like they’ve seen Ali-Frazier. KIMBO is now - not UFC-caliber - but UCF-caliber fighter. UCF=Ultra Crap Fighter!

Everyone knows that Kimbo is overrated. He was being spoonfed tomato cans in Elite XC in order to generate ratings.
He was completely exposed against a relative MMA nobody in Seth Petruzelli. Elite XC put the final nail in their coffin.

The only surprise was he got KO’d in 14 ticks rather than submitted later in the fight once he gassed out, got tossed down where he doesn’t know a thing, then submitted.

Kimbo is so overrated..oh well we all saw this day coming. A little sooner then expected, I thought he’d be fed more oldies to hype him up.

As I called it after his first fight…as soon as he fights a fighter with actual technique…he will lose. And look what happens. Kimbo can stay in Elite XC all he wants because he isn’t hurting anything…but he will never be anymore than a mediocre boxer.

you had to know that as soon as ANYONE with any MMA experience that wasn’t afraid of the legend of Kimbo Slice that he was gonna get KTFO or submitted just like Lesnar did in his first fight, altho I will say that Kimbo is not anywhere in the same league as Lesnar. Kimbo had his 15 min and I think he is done. how can they hype up a fighter that lost to someone who A. was supposed to fight on the undercard and B. hadn’t fought in a year…. HERE LIES KIMBO’S MMA CAREER RIP.
