McGrady left in the third quarter of Monday’s 100-89 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder with an injury to his surgically repaired left knee.
McGrady is expected to have an MRI today, but he did not sound optimistic about his status last night.
“My knee gave out on me,” McGrady said after Monday’s game. “They told me if I was to go back in, and they saw me limping they were going to take me back out. I was like, ‘Well, that’s what you’re pretty much going to see.’” “Tonight, I went back to square one, like before even surgery,” he said. “I’ve always been feeling it, but tonight, before that particular play, I came up and it just gave out on me.
An injured superstar is nothing new for the Rockets, who played much of last season without Yao Ming – and even ripped off a franchise-record 22-game winning streak in the center’s absence.
The good news today is Tracy McGrady,Shane Battier,Ron Artest and Yao Ming all practiced today.
