
There had been speculation McCoy would submit paperwork to an NFL advisory committee to gauge his draft status, but he said he will return in 2009.
Texas quarterback Colt McCoy plans to return to the Longhorns for his senior season.The NFL paperwork could still be sent in by a member of the UT football staff and passed along to McCoy as feedback.
“My intentions are to come back and play,” McCoy said during a Nov. 24 interview. “I would love to do that.”
McCoy is expected to be named a Heisman Trophy finalist Wednesday after setting school records with 3,445 yards passing and 32 touchdowns this season. He also leads the team in rushing with 576 yards.
Texas will play Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 5.
