Buffalo Bills running back Marshawn Lynch has been arrested and charged with felony possession of a concealed firearm, according to ProFootballTalk.com.
According to an announcement e-mailed to the site, Culver City, Cal., police officers discovered Lynch had a loaded firearm during a field investigation. Lynch was one of three adult males in a 2006 Mercedes Benz at the time of the arrest.
Lynch, a Pro Bowl running back, was released on $35,000 bond. The case will be submitted to the District Attorney’s office for filing consideration, according to the report. Lynch could face discipline under the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
The Bills issued a statement through vice president of communications Scott Berchtold on the team’s web site.
“We can confirm that Marshawn was arrested in California and has retained an attorney. We are in the process of trying to gather the facts and will not offer a comment while that process is ongoing.”
