Derek Fisher accuses a woman of stalking him.

by Administrator on Apr.28, 2009, under Basketball

Lakers guard Derek Fisher obtained a temporary restraining order Monday against a woman who has allegedly stalked him for years and changed her last name to Fisher, according to court papers.
The woman, Symone Fisher, has allegedly sent a number of e-mails, messages on social networking sites and letters to the Lakers star claiming to be his wife, even though the two have never met, Derek Fisher wrote in a declaration. She recently began showing up at the Lakers training facility in El Segundo and near his home, according to court papers.
“Her repeated attempts to contact me, her delusional notions that we are married, her angry and hostile tirades against me, her appearance at my place of work and her recent travels near and around my place of residence are all extremely frightening to me,” Derek Fisher wrote.
The 40-year-old woman started contacting Fisher during the 2001-02 basketball season, when she had a different legal name, sending him packages of CDs with love songs, according to a declaration by Duran McGregory, his personal security manager. She re-emerged during the 2005-06 season with Fisher as her new legal name, sending him letters saying that the two should get married and that God wanted them to be together.

Sports champions and athletic people can eat huge amounts of food without becoming overweight. This is because the exercise they do burns up the food before it turns into extra body fat. If you exercise or are physically active, it will stop you from getting too big. If you are not physically active, and eat more food than your body needs, it will store in your body as loose fat and make your body spread out.Prevent this now and using alternative mesures to save your life.

Bayern Munich fires Juergen Klinsmann.

by Administrator on Apr.27, 2009, under Basketball

jurgen-klinsmann.jpg
The 44-year-old took charge in July 2008, but recent defeats have seen Bayern crash out of the Champions League after a 4-0 hammering at Barcelona while Saturday’s 1-0 defeat by Schalke leaves them third in the German league.
“Of course, I am very disappointed at the moment,” said.
“Nevertheless, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Bayern Munich, the fans, the trainers, the players and my colleagues for an exciting time.
The first signs of trouble came last September in the Bundesliga when Werder Bremen embarrassed Bayern 5-2 in front of their own fans.
And having been knocked out of the German Cup 4-2 by Leverkusen in March, dreams of repeating last season’s domestic League, Cup and League Cup treble quickly faded.
The alarm bells then rang when Bayern were hammered 5-1 at Wolfsburg on April 4 in the Bundesliga before being routed 4-0 at Barcelona at four days later in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final.
And Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat to Schalke was the final straw as Rummenigge refused to speak to reporters when leaving the stadium.
Klinsmann’s replacement Heynckes already has a pedigree at Bayern having won two successive Bundesliga crowns in 1989 and 1990 in his first coaching stint in Munich between 1987 and 1991.
He then coached Spanish outfit Athletic Bilbao and German side Eintracht Frankfurt before moving to Real Madrid where he delivered the Champions League to the Spanish giants in 1998 after a 32-year wait.

Tony Allen receives death threats in Chicago

by Administrator on Apr.24, 2009, under Basketball

tallen.jpg
Sources said Allen has been receiving the threats in Chicago for some time. The former Crane High star also received threats prior to a March 17 game at Chicago, sources said, but he didn’t make the trip because of a thumb injury.
“Is that what you’re going to write about? Is that what you’re going to write about?” said Allen, before walking away after being asked about the threats.
Allen played nine minutes in last night’s rout but did not score. He had three rebounds and committed one foul.
Yesterday was the first time this season Allen made a trip with the Celtics to Chicago. A source said the extra security was a preventative measure.
On April 25, 2007, Allen was found not guilty of aggravated battery in a Chicago court. The ruling came on the second day of a trial stemming from a fight in August 2005 outside a Chicago restaurant. The fight escalated into a shooting at the White Palace Grill in the West Loop Aug. 28.

by Administrator on Apr.23, 2009, under NFL

Smith, who played 10 seasons for Jacksonville, was pulled over on Interstate 95 in Jacksonville for excessive window tint on his 2009 Mercedes Benz, Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Bill Leeper said.
The trooper reported that the inside of the car smelled like burnt marijuana. During a search, the trooper found crack cocaine, marijuana and a business card with powder cocaine residue in the car’s center console.
Smith faces multiple drug charges, plus a charge of driving with a suspended license. He was being held at the Duval County Jail with no bond set.
Smith retired from the Jaguars in 2006 after playing from 1995 to 2005. He finished with 862 receptions and 12,287 receiving yards and 67 touchdowns. He was a five-time Pro Bowl selection.
He was suspended for the first four games of the 2003 season for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy. He then publicly acknowledged an addiction and spent several weeks in rehab.

Knicks scouting for spanish point guard.

by Administrator on Apr.21, 2009, under Basketball

carlos-cabezas.jpg
A report yesterday that free-agent-to-be Spanish point guard Carlos Cabezas has a standing offer from the Knicks is false, according to a source who spoke to the player yesterday. However, the European source said the Knicks are monitoring Cabezas’ situation, and it’s very possible the Knicks will allow restricted free agent Nate Robinson to flee and fill the gap with a cheaper backup point guard from Europe. Cabezas, 28, will become a free agent June 30. According to the source, Donnie Walsh has ordered European scouting director Kevin Wilson to make up a DVD of the top European playmakers and Cabezas was given a strong review. Cabezas is seeking $2 million per year, which fits perfectly in the Knicks’ 2010 salary cap budget. The Knicks might also move up in the top three in the draft for a shot at Spanish point guard phenom Ricky Rubio.

Timberwolves done with McHale?

by Administrator on Apr.19, 2009, under Basketball

mchale.jpg
Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor appears focused on hiring an outside candidate to lead his team, an indication he is prepared to make sweeping organizational changes soon that would include Kevin McHale’s departure after 16 years with the franchise, 14 years as the basketball operations boss. Taylor said Sunday afternoon that he has not extended a job offer yet and is completing final reference checks in a search he hopes to complete in the next week or two. He refused to address chatter around the NBA that he has narrowed his search to a short list that includes San Antonio vice president/assistant general manager Dennis Lindsey and Cleveland assistant general manager Lance Blanks, citing a promise he said he made to all candidates to keep the process confidential.

by Administrator on Apr.17, 2009, under Soccer

david-beckham.jpg
Milan is preparing for their upcoming clash against Torino this weekend, and according to the latest reports, David Beckham is set to start on the bench for the third consecutive match. Corriere dello Sport believes that the coach Carlo Ancelotti is keen to field a similar starting eleven from the side that just got over the line against Chievo 1-0 last weekend. With this in mind, Beckham is a definite to start on the bench, whilst the hero from their most recent outing, Clarence Seedorf, will be given another opportunity to play from the start. The Los Angeles Galaxy player is contracted to Milan for the rest of the Serie A season, but his playing time has been drastically reduced.

Steve Nash might end career with Raptors

by Administrator on Apr.16, 2009, under Basketball

nash.jpg
Does Steve Nash want to end his career playing with the Toronto Raptors? The similarities are worth exploring with Nash out of the playoffs in Phoenix, with his contract a year away from expiring, and with his level of play just slightly diminishing with age. Nash has a tight personal relationship with Raptors coach Jay Triano, which makes the possible linking of the future all the more fascinating. Gretzky, the Canadian icon, knew what playing at Maple Leaf Gardens meant to him. Nash, an icon of similar but lesser status, has the same kind of feeling when he plays at the Air Canada Centre. A point guard combination of Nash and Jose Calderon would lengthen both careers. Is it possible? Who knows? Until it almost happened, it seemed impossible for Gretzky to be a Leaf — and only a myopic owner at the time prevented that piece of history from occurring.

Garnett out for playoffs.

by Administrator on Apr.16, 2009, under Basketball

kevin-g.jpg
In an interview this morning on Boston sports radio station WEEI, Celtics coach Doc Rivers said it was likely that Kevin Garnett would not be available to play at all in the playoffs.
“After today there’s no way he can play,” said Rivers, who left open the possibility his star could return at some point in the postseason but was not optimistic.
An NBA source confirmed to the Globe this morning that Garnett was only about 70 percent healed from the knee injury, which occured during a Feb. 19 game in Utah, and that the Celtics All-Star would likely miss the entire postseason.
Rivers added that Garnett would continue to get treatment in the hopes that he would be able to return at some point.
“Yes, he’s out,” Rivers told the Globe. “I feel for the season but we just don’t know yet.”
Despite the discouraging news about Garnett, Rivers was positive about the team moving on without him: “I think we’re going to be fine … we have some mentally strong guys, very tough guys.”
The second-seeded Celtics open their playoff series against the Bulls on Saturday afternoon at the Garden.
