Noah’s trash talk
by Administrator on Apr.20, 2010, under Basketball, Uncategorized

Noah said he wasn’t concerned about any rude reception from Cleveland fans miffed at him for saying their city “sucks.”
“I don’t care,” Noah snapped as he walked to the Bulls’ team bus after shootaround. “At all.”
On Sunday, before his anti-Garnett rant, Noah said: “I don’t know about Cleveland, man, there is nothing going on. It’s bad, man.”
Noah’s comments about Cleveland have further angered Cavaliers fans, who have grown to dislike him. In a game earlier this season, Noah took exception to LeBron James dancing on the floor and had a heated exchange with the league’s reigning MVP.
“That’s Jo,” shrugged guard Derrick Rose. “He’s just trying to win. That’s the way he plays, the way he talks. You always know he’s in the room. It makes all of us play harder because we know everywhere we go everybody hates him. You love shutting the crowd up, but it’s going to take wins.”

Jason Heyward is todays baseball Phenom
by Administrator on Apr.06, 2010, under Baseball, Uncategorized

After an eye-popping debut, Jason Heyward received some eye-popping praise from teammate Derek Lowe. The veteran pitcher came up in the Mariners organization with Seattle and was teammates with A-Rod during the 1997, Lowe’s rookie year and Rodriguez’s second full season in the majors. “I think [Heyward] is a lot better than Alex was at that point,” Lowe said. “What Alex has done to this point, you can’t really compare to anybody, but you look at the raw strength that that the guy [Heyward] has, his plate discipline — you don’t see that every day.”
Lowe’s comments came after Heyward had a three-run homer and four RBIs in his major league debut against the Cubs.
“I don’t know if Alex came in at 19 and [Heyward] is 20, or vice-versa,” Lowe said. “But it’s very special. And when you hear everyone in the clubhouse say [Heyward] is a better person than he is a player … seriously, if you’re a person what better way do you want people to speak about you than that?”
Caster Semenya been told to wait until the results of her gender tests are clear.
by Administrator on Mar.31, 2010, under Uncategorized

The world 800m champion released a statement yesterday indicating her intention to return to the sport immediately, just hours after the ASA said her return would have to wait until the conclusion of testing by the IAAF.
Athletics South Africa expect the IAAF to report back on the results of Caster Semanya’s gender test by June and they have told the athlete that she cannot compete until the results are known.
Semenya has not competed since her victory at the World Championships in Berlin last summer. The 19-year-old was expected to hear the decision last November but in frustration at the long delay, released a lengthy statement yesterday apparently in a bid to speed up a resolution.
Semenya’s statement read: “I am an athlete first and foremost and it is vital for my competitiveness, my well-being and for my preparations for events during the European summer that I measure my performance against other athletes.
“I hereby publicly announce my return to athletics competitions. My coach, agent and I will work closely together to identify and prepare for a limited number of athletics meetings over the course of the coming athletics season.”
The IAAF are maintaining their position that they will not comment on Semenya’s case until the medical findings are finally released.

by Administrator on Feb.02, 2009, under Uncategorized

Olympic swimming sensation Michael Phelps has been exposed as a bong-toking pothead in a photo circulating around the Internet, taken on Nov. 6 at the University of South Carolina in Columbia.
While he was visiting co-ed Jordan Matthews a girl he was secretly seeing who was a student there , Phelps stopped at a kegger where he partied with beer, marijuana and some quality Roor glass.
“I engaged in behavior which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment,” Phelps said in the statement released by one of his agents. “I’m 23 years old and despite the successes I’ve had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from me. For this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public it will not happen again.”
